Wear your flip flops, get a discount at Hawaii hotels

At some Hawaii hotels this fall, flip flops will be practically mandatory.

That is, if you want to save money.

Aqua Hotels and Resorts this fall is offering a “Slip Into Savings” promotion. Travelers will save 10% if they are wearing flip flops or slippers when they check in.

“Slippers are the universal footwear in Hawaii and appropriate for just about any island occasion,” says Elizabeth Churchill, senior vice president of sales and marketing. “They are a perfect choice for a themed promotion as they help our guests kick off their vacations on the right foot by feeling like locals.”

The discount on the best available rate will be available from Aug. 1 to Dec. 24.

Participating Aqua properties include: Aqua Aloha Surf Waikiki, Aqua Bamboo Waikiki, Aqua Lotus Honolulu, Aqua Palms Waikiki, Aqua Queen Kapiolani, Aqua Waikiki Pearl, Aqua Waikiki Wave, Ewa Hotel Waikiki, Aqua Ilikai Hotel & Suites, Island Colony, Maile Sky Court, Pagoda Hotel, Park Shore Waikiki, White Sands Hotel, Hotel Wailea Maui, Maui Beach Hotel, Aqua Hotel Molokai, Kauai Sands Hotel and Kauai Beach Resort.

Here are the restrictions: The offer is valid on new reservations only and cannot be combined with any other offer or specials.

Reservations can be made at www.aquaresorts.com or by calling 1-866-406-2782, but you must use the promotional code Slipper, or Slippah for Hawaii residents. As the company points out in its pres s release, locals refer to the footwear as slippers or slippas, not flip flops.
