Environmental and Corporate Responsibility

The Appointment Group has always adopted a rigorous environmental policy, which is managed internally. We firmly believe that all corporate organisations have a responsibility in this area and we actively encourage all our staff to follow this policy. We are totally committed to maintaining and improving our own environmental practices and to promoting awareness of environmental responsibilities among all our staff and clients.

Companies and organisations are increasingly required to measure their emissions arising from business travel on a company level, a process level or even on a product level. To support our customers in their efforts to report on – and neutralise – the carbon emission impact of essential business travel we offer comprehensive carbon emission reporting and Carbon Offsetting as part of our business intelligence solution.

Upon joining the company, each staff member is emailed an electronic hand-book, which clearly states the company environmental policy. Compliance in this area is measured in the bi-annual appraisal system, where there is a specific field covering their application to this area and detailing their competence in following these procedures.  Detailed below is the environmental and recycling policy set out in our staff handbook.

Environment and Recycling Policy

All staff are expected to adhere to the company environmental and recycling policy.

The Appointment Group company systems enable staff to work in a paper-free environment. Documentation printing must only take place if absolutely necessary. Paper must be used on both sides and where possible returned for further usage. Once the reverse side has been used and there is no further use for the paper, place in one of the green paper recycling bins. There is a bin in every department. Any document of a confidential nature must be shredded before recycling.

There are recycling bins in every kitchen for newspapers and junk-mail, bottles, tin and aluminum cans and plastic cartons, all staff are expected to use these.

The Appointment Group minimises the use of electricity and water, by such measures as turning off lights in non essential areas.
